Car accidents: High speed factor in fatal Pennsylvania crash

The deaths of loved ones are never easy. When car accidents lead to these deaths, surviving family members may find themselves hoping to move forward in the best manner possible. In some cases, seeking compensation against the driver considered at fault for a fatal accident may be worth considering.

It was recently reported that a serious accident took place in Pennsylvania. Reports indicated that police had stopped a driver for making an illegal turn, but the driver sped away after police discovered that he was violating his probation. While driving at speeds that were estimated to have reached approximately 100 mph, the driver crashed into another vehicle that was carrying two adults and a child. The collision took place approximately two miles from the initial police stop.

The adults and child in the second car suffered fatal injuries as a result of the incident. A female passenger in the speeding vehicle suffered a wrist injury, and the driver of that car was still at the hospital at the time of the report and remained in police custody. He is currently facing charges for criminal homicide, vehicular homicide and other allegations.

The family of the individuals killed in this serious incident may find information on their legal options useful. Learning more about wrongful death claims could help them — and other individuals similarly affected by car accidents — determine whether filing a claim is a route they wish to pursue. A successful lawsuit could allow them to gain compensation for funeral expenses, emotional hardships and other damages permitted under Pennsylvania law.
