Recent Pennsylvania car accidents: 1 dead and 3 injured in crash
A three-vehicle accident that occurred recently in Montgomery County took the life of one individual and injured three others. Authorities say that the accident took place around 12:00 p.m. on a recent Wednesday in November in Franconia Township. When Pennsylvania residents are injured or killed in car accidents due to the negligence of another driver, they—or, in the case of a fatality, their loved ones — are typically entitled to file a personal injury claim —or wrongful death claim—against the party believed responsible.
According to the police, a delivery van was traveling in the northbound lane of Harleysville Pike. The driver slowed down, at which point a truck rear-ended the van. The van was then pushed into the southbound lane of traffic, where a sedan in that lane crashed into it.
A female passenger in the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, and the driver of the sedan suffered serious injuries and was flown by helicopter to a local medical center. The driver of the van was airlifted to a nearby hospital as well. The truck’s driver was rushed by ambulance to third local hospital to be treated for injuries suffered in the crash. The investigation into this accident is currently ongoing.
Based upon the preliminary evidence of this accident, it appears that the two seriously injured victims of the sedan and the van have grounds to file a personal injury lawsuit for financial relief against the truck driver, while the family of the individual who was killed may have ground to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the truck driver. If these separate claims are successfully presented, they may each result in the entry of a monetary judgment. Any restitution paid therein might be used to help lessen many of the financial burdens that are often imposed on victims and their families as a result of being involved in serious car accidents, including medical bills, lost pay—and in the case of a fatal accident — end of life expenses. Accident victims in Pennsylvania typically consult with an experienced personal injury attorney in order to assess the validity of a legal claim as well as provide ongoing support in navigating the civil justice system.
