Recent Pennsylvania car accidents: crash results in fatality

When car accidents occur, lives can be changed, sometimes forever. Although many car accidents result in the effected individuals walking away or only suffering minor injuries, it is also all too common for the individuals to suffer serious injuries or, in some tragic cases, death. A recent car accident took the life of a Pennsylvania resident.

The accident occurred in Murrysville on a recent Wednesday afternoon in September. According to the coroner’s office, a 55-year-old man was headed south on Route 366 in his SUV while other vehicles in the opposing lane were stopped. Another SUV in the opposing lane crossed the centerline and struck the man’s SUV head on, before striking one of the vehicles that was stopped.

According to the coroner, the driver of the first SUV was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The conditions of the other individuals involved are currently unknown. Route 366 was shut down for around six hours while emergency responders worked at the crash scene.

The investigation into the cause of this fatal accident is currently ongoing. Whether the driver of the second SUV was impaired or not, a wrongful death claim may be filed in a civil court with regard to this accident. If a Pennsylvania court rules that the other driver’s negligence either caused or contributed to the death of the individual, then damages may be awarded. Families of individuals who perish in car accidents typically choose to consult an experienced personal injury attorney for advice and assistance in seeking financial relief from parties deemed responsible.
