Victims of high speed car accidents often suffer serious harm
Over the course of their lives, many drivers in Pennsylvania find themselves speeding at one point for one reason or another. Whether headed to work or the airport, there are a variety of reasons why individuals speed. Usually nothing serious results from this, but sometimes, operating vehicles at speeds higher than is legally allowed results in car accidents and serious injury can result.
High speeds may have played a role in a recent car accident. Police say that one individual was seriously injured, and three were killed. The accident occurred in Bustleton on July 29, just before midnight. A luxury car that may have been involved in a street race was split in two after it slammed into a tree.
One of the passengers, a 17-year-old, was found on the road with severe injuries, including head trauma. He was rushed to a local medical center and is currently in critical condition. The driver of the vehicle, a 20-year-old man from Philadelphia walked away from the crash.
When Pennsylvania car accidents cause serious injuries as a result of a driver’s negligence, the victim is entitled to file a personal injury claim for financial relief. When this type of claim is successfully navigated, any restitution paid can be used to help alleviate some of the financial burdens imposed on the victim of a serious car accident. Damages typically include medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost pay and other documented financial losses. Victims of car accidents typically consult a personal injury attorney to determine the validity of a legal claim and for ongoing support in seeking justice in a civil court.
