Pennsylvania car accidents: Fatal event takes place on wet road

When roads are wet, drivers often need to take extra care when traveling. If they drive too quickly, maneuver too sharply or are in need of new tires, they could easily lose control of their vehicles. In such cases, car accidents are not unlikely, and those incidents could result in injuries and/or deaths.

A recent accident in Pennsylvania reportedly took place on a wet road. The 25-year-old driver of a car was traveling west when she lost control. As a result, her vehicle veered into the opposite lane of travel and collided with an eastbound minivan being driven by a 16-year-old individual. There was also a passenger in the first car, and at least three individuals in the minivan.

The driver and passenger in the car both suffered fatal injuries in the crash. Reports also stated that the driver and two passengers in the minivan were transported to an area hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries was not detailed in the report. Authorities will likely continue to investigate the incident to determine whether there were any extenuating factors that may have contributed.

As is the case with all car accidents in Pennsylvania that cause injuries or death, legal claims may result. The family of the deceased passenger may wish to consider filing a wrongful death claim against the estate of the driver considered at fault in order to seek compensation for emotional and financial losses. Additionally, if the individuals in the other vehicle were seriously injured, they may wish to file personal injury claims as well.
