Truck accidents: Pennsylvania crash claims life

Tractor-trailers frequently travel the roadways. It may be considered a rarity to not see such a truck while driving on a highway, but though these trucks are relatively commonplace, they can still cause much apprehension for drivers. Truck accidents often lead to devastating outcomes, and the details of such crashes could be vital to investigations and potential legal repercussions.

A recent accident in Pennsylvania could lead to a civil claim due to the outcomes. Reports stated that the incident involved two tractor-trailers. Details on the accident were few, but the two trucks collided. One truck was carrying between 250 to 400 pigs, and it was unclear what the other truck may have been hauling. The incident resulted in 100 pigs being killed.

In addition to the pigs, one of the drivers also suffered fatal injuries. He was reported as being 67 years old. The driver of the pig-hauling truck did not suffer any injuries in the incident. Authorities were continuing to investigate at the time of the report, likely to determine exact causes of the incident and whether any charges may be warranted.

This Pennsylvania crash had an outcome similar to many truck accidents. However, the incident is still a tragic one, and the victim’s family is undoubtedly grieving for the loss of their loved one. If the police investigation determines that the surviving driver is believed responsible for the crash, the family may want to consider filing a wrongful death claim against that driver as well as his or her employer. Information on taking such steps and how it could potentially allow them to gain compensation may prove useful.
